Fantasy Blue Dream Shrimp - 5+ or 10+
These are our family-bred fantasy blue dream shrimp (Neocaridina). We will send large, adult and young adult shrimp (~3/4”+) , not the 1/4” miniscule little babies people sell on eBay or similar sites. Our shrimp are all tank bred, in our angelfish hatchery, and never imported. Breeding and raising these shrimp in our hard/high pH water makes them acclimate better and have a higher survival rate compared to imported shrimp. You will not be disappointed with the bright blue coloration on these shrimp and while you can’t keep shrimp with your adult angels, these make a great match to our blue angelfish in a separate nano setup. These shrimp do not require special attention and can acclimate easily to a wide range of water parameters. Our favorite setup for shrimp is a small tank with some different kinds of snails and plants. This creates a fantastic, colorful little community that is so much fun to watch!
In little to no time, you can have little blue shrimp carrying clumps of eggs and birthing even tinier blue shrimp!
Fantasy blues are a great beginner aquarium shrimp and they have amazing coloration. They are one of the hardiest shrimp we have raised and will breed true.
Blue dreams show best color while being kept on dark substrate. Why this occurs is due to the fact that shrimp in general try to blend into their environment. Therefore, blue shrimp will darken in an attempt to have natural camouflage. On white substrate they will try to bleach their color and be more transparent. It is better to keep blue dreams on a darker substrate or dark painted tank bottom.
